Head Coach, Leroy Washington
Coach Washington was raised in Long Beach California and earned his bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from the University of Montana (1985). Coach Washington also played basketball at Montana where he lettered all four years (1982-85). He played in 98 career games and was the recipient of the team’s John Earheart Award as the program’s top defensive player (85).
He brings years of experience as he was an assistant coach at Cal Poly, University of Montana, University of Wyoming, University of Idaho, and Oregon State University from 1988 to 2008.
During his time at Montana, the Grizzlies appeared in the NCAA Tournament in 1992, the NIT in 1995, and earned two Big Sky Conference titles. While at the University of Wyoming, the Cowboys won two Mountain West Championships, made an appearance at an N.I.T tournament, and qualified for the 2002 NCAA tournament.
Coach Washington also acts as Director of SERA Summer Basketball Camps.
Leroy has two sons Mychael and Jayson.
