SPOKANE, Wash. – We are excited to announce Leroy Washington as the Head Coach for the Legends!

Coach Washington brings years of experience as an assistant coach at Cal Poly, University of Montana, University of Wyoming, University of Idaho, and Oregon State University from 1988 to 2008. During his time at Montana, the Grizzlies appeared in the NCAA Tournament in 1992, the NIT in 1995, and earned two Big Sky Conference titles.

“We’re excited that Coach Washington is a part of our staff. His passion and commitment to the Legends is really something to embrace.” says Michael Bethely, President of the organization. “Not only does he bring years of knowledge and experience, but he also brings a network and culture of the game that can reach to the corners of the globe. Which will hopefully prove to be a great opportunity our organization, and for our players coming and going.”

While at the University of Wyoming, Washington helped the Cowboys win two Mountain West Championships,
make an appearance at an N.I.T tournament, and qualify for the 2002 NCAA tournament. He also acts as Director of Spokane Eastside Reunion Association (SERA) Summer Basketball Camps.

“I want to create a winning program, while also getting a chance to serve the community of Spokane.” Washington says. “I’m committed to seeing this organization grow to the potential that it has.”
